1. About Instalimb

Instalimb Inc. is a startup founded in Japan that pioneers the use of 3D printing and AI technology in the field of prosthetics and orthotics. Since its establishment in 2019, our mission has been to deliver prosthetic limbs faster, more affordably, and more comfortably to all who need them.

Our goal is to set a new global standard through digital fabrication of prosthetic and orthotic devices, ultimately improving the quality of life for as many people as possible. Rather than acting solely as a manufacturer, we aim to build a sustainable support system through technology transfer, education, and close collaboration with local partners.

In Ukraine, we are implementing a digital prosthetic limb fabrication technology transfer project in partnership with international organizations and local institutions to support the many individuals who require prosthetic and orthotic devices due to diabetes, injury, disabilities, or the tragic consequences of war. This position plays a central role in this project, as well as in future business expansion.

2. Position Overview

This role involves serving as a Prosthetist and Orthotist based in Ukraine, contributing to the core operations of a digital fabrication project driven by Instalimb.

The primary mission is not only to support patients but to lead technology transfer to local partner facilities through training, technical support, quality control, and implementation assistance. The position will require collaboration and coordination with international organizations, hospitals, government agencies, and NGOs.

Especially in the initial phase, responsibilities will include adapting and localizing Instalimb&# 039;s existing technology and products to fit the specific needs of the Ukrainian context, including elements of R&D.

The role may involve overseas travel, including training and coordinating visits to India and other countries. While working in Ukraine, the successful candidate will be formally affiliated with Instalimb Inc, Japan.

3. Key Responsibilities A. Training & Technical Support for License Partners

• Deliver training on prosthetic and orthotic digital fabrication processes to staff at local partner facilities (eg, hospitals, rehabilitation centers)

• Provide instruction using established training manuals and follow up on knowledge retention

• Offer ongoing technical support and address inquiries from partner staff regarding digital fabrication technology

B. Project Execution and Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with international organizations, medical institutions, government bodies, and NGOs

• Prepare and submit progress reports on project implementation

• Manage schedules across multiple facilities and coordinate with the local and global Instalimb teams

C. Clinical Engagement & Technical Supervision

• Supervise clinical activities and fitting assessments at partner sites

• Support and observe fitting procedures and fabrication processes

• Collect and analyze patient feedback after device delivery

D. Product & Technical Specification Adaptation

• Propose and adjust product specifications based on local patient needs

• Conduct local research to improve materials, designs, and manufacturing processes

• Collaborate with the global team to prototype and evaluate new localized configurations

E. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain detailed reports on training, clinical activities, and issue resolution

• Collect and organize manufacturing documentation from partner sites

• Prepare briefings and reports in English or Ukrainian for internal and external stakeholders

4. Technical and Clinical Duties

As part of technical support and training activities, you may be required to directly demonstrate or execute the following tasks with patients. In the future, Instalimb may establish its own manufacturing capabilities in Ukraine, potentially enabling direct delivery of prosthetic and orthotic devices to patients.

Clinical Tasks

• Evaluate patient condition and prosthetic/orthotic needs

• Take body measurements necessary for device design

• Perform 3D scanning of residual limbs or relevant body areas

• Create prosthetic/orthotic designs using 3D CAD software

• Conduct post-fitting movement evaluations and make adjustments

• Instruct patients on device use and maintenance

• Perform repairs or adjustments post-delivery

• Document patient data, component usage, and adjustment history

• Conduct home visits for assessments and fitting checks

Fabrication Tasks

• Interpret design specifications and prepare required tools/materials

• Download and process 3D printer data

• Set up and configure 3D printers, including material loading and calibration

• Replace consumables and conduct daily/monthly printer maintenance

• Perform other production-related tasks as assigned by management

IT Systems Support

• Support the implementation and training of "Instalimb ONE," the internal software used for customer and manufacturing process management

• Gather user feedback and implementation challenges and report them to the head office

5. Qualifications A. Required

• National or government-recognized certification as a Prosthetist and Orthotist

• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in prosthetics and orthotics

• Clinical and technical skills related to the design, fitting, and fabrication of prosthetic/orthotic devices

• Proficiency in basic PC tools (Word, Excel, email, online communication platforms)

• Basic verbal and written communication in English

• Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision

• Flexibility to engage in overseas travel and cross-cultural collaboration

B. Preferred

• Experience in training others on prosthetics and orthotics fabrication techniques

• Participation in multi-site or multi-organization projects

• Basic knowledge of 3D printers and 3D CAD software

• Understanding of traditional methods (laminated sockets, pin-lock systems, soft inserts)

• Bilingual ability in Ukrainian and English, especially for medical and technical contexts

• Valid driver&# 039;s license (for possible fieldwork)
  

6. Employment Details A. Contract & Compensation

• Type: Full-time contract (renewable annually)

• Salary: USD 900–1, 200/month (based on experience and qualifications)
  

B. Working Hours & Leave

• Hours: Monday–Friday, 9: 00 AM– 6: 00 PM (including 1-hour lunch)

• Days Off: Saturdays, Sundays, and national public holidays (based on Ukrainian law)

• Paid Leave: In accordance with Ukrainian labor regulations

• Probation Period: 6 months (same conditions as regular employment)
